Caves Beach's 140 years female crew picked up the only surf boat medal, with Alicia Drain, Kerrie Croal, Alison McGuire, Kathryn Reid and Brett Main (sweep) finishing second in the masters competition.
Redhead's 160 years men's crew of Jared Gilkinson, Darren Matheson, David McCallum, Anthony McCallum and Michael Rees finished in fourth place.
Despite the lack of medals, there was promising improvement for a number of local crews, with semi-final appearances.

IN ‘‘Hunter crews fail to shine at Streets surf boat series'’, on the state surf lifesaving titles at Umina Beach, it stated ‘‘Caves Beach’s 140 years female crew picked up the only surf boat medal’’. This was not the case as Redhead Surf Life Saving Club’s 160 years masters women crew also won a medal - a silver.
