LOSING their long locks did not bother this pair of brave Swansea Public School students.
"It'll grow back," they said.
Dilara Peacock-Kurt and Kirsty Tallon are only 6 and 8 years-old yet they have been directly affected by cancer in their family.
The duo stepped up on Tuesday to take on the World's Greatest Shave, the annual Leukaemia Foundation campaign raising funds for a cure.
Kirsty's father, Steven Tallon, died last May, a year after he was diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer.
Dilara almost lost her father, Hakan Kurt to follicular lymphoma in 2013. However, last December, after 12 months of treatment, Mr Kurt was given the all-clear.
To honour their father's battles, Kirsty and Dilara said goodbye to their hair in front of the entire school.
They then donated their locks to Pantene's Look Good, Feel Better program, which makes wigs for cancer patients who have lost their hair.
Fellow students Riley Ferguson (kindergarten), Jackson Phillips (year 1) and Jonah Rizk (year 4) joined them in their crusade.
The rest of the school enjoyed a crazy hair day for a gold coin donation. The students raised about $1100 for the Leukaemia Foundation - more than double last year's amount.
They also have an online fundraising tally that the public can donate until June. Visit worlds-greatestshave.com and search for Swansea Public School.
