The Starlight Express Room is a retreat for sick children and their families at the John Hunter Children's Hospital.
A Playstation PS4, five games, an additional controller, Playstation camera and a $1000 cheque were donated last week.
The donations were made by Greater Building Society IT staff, who acquired the equipment as bonus items when they bought audio-visual equipment for the Hamilton head office last year.
Hospital program manager Nielson Gordon said the Starlight Express room was a great escape for children to get away from medical treatment while remaining on the hospital grounds.
New equipment for the room will brighten the kids' experiences, he said.
Ainsleigh Dunbar, aged 10, was playing with Captain Starlight when the presentation was made.
Ainsleigh had travelled all the way from Muswellbrook for intensive peanut allergy testing.
After Ainsleigh had a reaction, she took some time out to recover in the Starlight Express Room.
