About 130 unique stalls will be set up among the shaded trees and bunting flags.

Plenty of gourmet Easter treats will be on offer, including handmade artisan chocolate eggs, 500 gram sourdough Easter buns, hot cross bun macaroons, Easter cookies and delicious hot cross bun meringues with marshmallow centres.

Market organiser Justine Gaudry said The Olive Tree Market featured contemporary art, design, fashion, music and gourmet produce directly from the hands of the makers.

"It's like Etsy, but on a local scale and you get to meet the talented artists in person," she said.

Ms Gaudry said people had embraced the new Civic Park location, just around the corner from Darby Street, near Newcastle Art Gallery and close to Honeysuckle.
