Students were encouraged to bring materials to school and make their hats in class.
Some used cardboard, felt and styrofoam, while others decorated hats they had bought.
Assistant principal and kindergarten teacher Belinda Conry said it was a good incentive for students to get hands on.
‘‘We thought it would be really nice for the kids to get creative and interact with each other on this task,’’ she said.
Kindergarten students had a little help from their year 5 buddies, and teachers shared suggestions for materials and design.
Students used a variety of crafts to decorate their creations, including glitter, sequins, streamers and textas.
The Easter hat parade was held on Thursday, along with a mammoth Easter egg raffle, on the last day of school term.
It was the first parade in three years, as the school rotates Easter activities every year.
Afterwards students returned to their classrooms to find the Easter bunny had visited.
