The state government has issued a notice about the works planned for April.
Trucks, excavators, a truck-mounted drill rig, and concrete saws will be at the Wickham site.
They will start work to relocate the electrical, water and telecommunications systems and demolish any redundant structures.
Earthworks and landscaping will be carried out between Wickham and Hamilton train stations.
New water, sewer and fire connections are planned for Hamilton station.
It will also be fitted with a new PA system and new benches.
The Wickham interchange is expected to be completed by late 2016.
