Kiss My Arts is an annual exhibition held in support of MS Australia, raising money for those affected by Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic disease that affects more than 23,000 Australians.

Kiss My Arts is held in conjunction with MS awareness month, held in May. Over the past two years the exhibition has been supported by more than 100 artists, who have raised about $2500 for the cause.

It includes many different mediums, such as paintings, prints, textiles, paper sculptures and ceramics.

Finite Gallery's Leslie Duffin said she was first approached by TAFE photography teacher and artist James Murphy to host the exhibition after a mutual friend was diagnosed with the disease.

Since then, she discovered many people in her own circles were directly or indirectly affected by MS.

Twenty per cent of all sales from the exhibition will be donated to MS Australia.

"Many of Newcastle's most esteemed artists are committing work to the exhibition, so we're providing an opportunity for the art loving community to acquire their works and support a worthy cause at the same time," Ms Duffin said.

■ Finite Gallery's exhibition Kiss My Arts 3 will be on from May 2-31. The opening event will be held on Saturday, May 2 from 2-4pm at 55 Caves Beach Road, Caves Beach.
