Organisers plan to transform St Andrews Presbyterian Church into a Parisian jazz club, with renditions of songs made famous by singers such as Edith Piaf, Berthe Sylvia, Lucienne Boyer, Hanka Ordonka, Offenbach and The Andrews Sisters.
Concerts are planned for Newcastle, Singleton and Port Stephens.
A Night in Paris will feature jazz classics from the 1920s, '30s and '40s performed by Asha Lunarzewski.
Lunarzewski will be joined on stage by back-up dancers and an eight-piece band.
The jazz band features keyboard, drums, saxophone, guitar, double bass, trumpet, trombone and violin.
Songs will be sung in English, French and Polish, including old favourites from Cole Porter and Gershwin.
Musical Matinees' Zoe Arthur said the ticket price includes a few "delicate delicacies", based on the concert theme.
Concert-goers will also be able to meet the artists themselves on the night.
■ A Night in Paris will be held at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, on the Corner of Laman and Auckland streets, Newcastle on Friday, May 15, 7pm. Tickets are $35 and are available online from stickytickets.com.au/musicalmatinees or at the door.
