THE sun beamed through the arc of the centenary memorial on Swansea foreshore on cue.
It was witnessed by more than 3000 people, who had arrived to be part of Swansea's Dawn Service, the first in a decade and the dedication of its memorial.
Swansea RSL Sub-Branch vice-president Barney Blundell said the sun was right on time and dropped in as planned.
He said the eight-metre wide, 4.7-metres high, 2.5-tonne sculpture had shone in its glory and proven it lent itself to a dawn service.
Mr Blundell said the sub-branch planned for the dawn service to become part of its Anzac calendar.
He believed with the growing numbers at Anzac services there was enough support for three dawn services in the area - at Swansea, Pelican and Catherine Hill Bay.
