Most of the city's major attractions are open, including Merewether and Newcastle Ocean Baths and Blackbutt.
Sports grounds across Newcastle were closed again at the weekend after rainfall on Thursday night.
Newcastle residents can drop off bulk waste and green waste from the storms free of charge at Summerhill Waste Management Centre until Sunday, May 10.
The council's regular kerbside bulk waste service is also available for residents who are unable to transport their waste to Summerhill. However, the council has warned the collection will not take place for at least three weeks.
