The event is a four-day race that starts in Port Stephens on May 28 and finishes in Newcastle on May 31.
After last month's superstorms, some of the tracks were littered with debris.
The association swung into operation, spending countless hours repairing damage to the Awaba Mountain Bike Track, part of day three's course this Saturday.
Hunter Mountain Bike Association member Dean Kozlik said in the past couple of weeks volunteers cleared the trails, making sure they were in top condition.
"We want riders from around the country to ride Awaba Mountain Bike Park in great condition. We are very proud of our local trails and we can't wait to show them off," Mr Kozlik said.
Many of the association's members registered for the event and will join riders from all over the country.
On the last day, Sunday, the race will weave its way up the coast from Cams Wharf through Glenrock Mountain Bike Park, along Merewether Beach to Dixon Park.
For this part of the ride there will be road closures.
These include 8.45am to 11am at Cams Wharf Road, Cams Wharf; Scenic Drive, Caves Beach; Gray Street, Swansea; Peel Street, Swansea; Awabakal Avenue, Blacksmiths; Ocean Park Road, Belmont South; and 10am to 4pm Scenic Drive, Yule Road, Frederick Street and John Parade, Merewether. The races finishes at Dixon Park with a carnival atmosphere that will include entertainment, jumping castle, face painting, steak sandwiches, wraps and burgers. Go to porttoportmtb.com to register.
