The feat - for the most people moving on ice at one time - came several weeks ahead of the opening of Disney on Ice presents Dare to Dream at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on June 19.
The show celebrates 75 years of Disney princess stories and includes characters from much-loved Disney classics as well as their contemporary counterparts.
Disney stalwarts Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy are also part of the cast.
The show's performance director Stuart McDonald said princes and princesses of all ages were part of the crowd: from pint-sized princesses in full costume to teenagers with tiaras and crowns topping off their school uniforms.
He said the broad age group showed the enduring appeal of Disney stories.
