Maryville Tavern opened the first quarter against Forsythes Business Advisors with strong defence.
Forsythes fought back, placing pressure on the midcourt,and this was maintained into the second quarter.
Maryville Tavern’s attacking circle was heavily contested by Forsythes’ goal keeper and goal defender, who aided turnovers for their team.
With the half-time score in Forsythes’ favour, 26-25, Maryville Tavern persisted and further intensified their defensive approach.
Around the opposition’s attacking circle, Maryville Tavern’s centre and wing defence gave a commended effort to tightly contest Forsythes’ ball feed.
With a solid lead throughout the match, Forsythes held onto their advantage, staying ahead until the final whistle.
The score was 46-34.
In other games, BNC 2 defeated Junction Hotel Stella 49-39; South Leagues Netball Club continued their winning streak 42-31 against Junction Hotel Yoga Loft; and a close game between Bilbie Dan Solicitors and BNC 1 finished with only a two-point difference at 34-32.
South Leagues Netball Club maintained their top two position on the leader board ahead of Forsythes Business Advisors.
Third and fourth place are tied on 18 points, being Junction Hotel Yoga Loft and the Maryville Tavern.
The next matches will be played June 13 on courts 8 and 9 at National Park at 2.30pm and 3.45pm.
