People often ask me how they can find out more about what is happening in our community. There are many ways to stay connected.
Stay informed - Council News is posted to households four times a year with the quarterly rates.
You can also subscribe to a council e-newsletter.
Our website is constantly updated and we have a number of social media accounts.
Visit newcastle.nsw.gov.au and look for the "stay connected" section at the bottom of the page.
We also publish our popular waste calendar once a year.
The new one is in the post, so if you haven't received yours by mid-July, ring 4974 2000.
Be engaged - join Newcastle Voice and become part of a group of residents who take part in engagement activities about our city.
You will be invited to participate in workshops, surveys, quick polls and more.
You will also receive a monthly newsletter.
Recognise community contributions - nominations are now open for the NSW/ACT Regional Achievement & Community Awards, a fantastic way to recognise individuals and groups dedicated to enhancing our local community.
Without the efforts of volunteers, Newcastle would not be as vibrant as it is today. If you know of someone worthy of recognition, please take the time to nominate them.
