An outdoor inner-city celebration of food and wine will be set up in Market Street, Newcastle, outside the Three Bears Kitchen.
Three Bears Kitchen's chef and co-owner Mark Hosie said he had planned a "village feast", complete with a dessert table.
The menu has been compiled with the help of 10 different restaurants, including Restaurant Mason, Casa de Loco, The Persian Palace and Cazador.
Soul Cafe manager Karen Soper said she hoped the Newcastle Street Food Festival would raise awareness about the role of Soul Cafe in the community and strengthened its ties with CBD businesses.
Soul Cafe serves about 130 free meals to the public every day, she said.
"Soul Cafe is based in the heart of Newcastle, yet our clients' interaction with CBD businesses is often limited," Ms Soper said.
"All money raised through the street festival will come back here to feed the homeless and those who are disadvantaged."
Ms Soper said Soul Cafe also acted as a link to other services available to the community, particularly those with family or relationship breakdowns, drug or alcohol addiction or mental illness.
She said homelessness was a major concern for the area, with an estimated 8000 homeless people and a five to 10-year waiting list for public housing.
