The the weather is for the most part pretty good with the exception of last week.
Understandable there was not much fishing done last week, however, there are plenty of hungry fish waiting for everyone during the long weekend.
Lake Macquarie is one of the best places for fishing.
Flathead and tailor have been the most prolific fish being caught of late and there have been large schools of salmon in the Swansea channel at low tide.
The whiting are starting to show up in better numbers off the sand flats and soon the prawns will be plentiful.
The long range weather forecast is looking like the long weekend is going to be an absolute ripper for offshore fishing.
There has been some nice yellowfin tuna and some striped marlin out wide.
Snapper and yellow tail kingfish have been found around Broughton Island just to spice things up a bit too.
This weekend marks the start of daylight saving so don’t forget to add one hour to the times on your tide chart.
