All local tennis professionals will be conducting holiday camps for the juniors. I can guarantee they will have a great time, loads of exercise and learn some new skills.
Last week was a quite week for tennis activities.
However, several Hunter players travelled to Taree over the weekend to compete in the Taree Manning Valley Open.
A bronze AMT, the Open attracted a solid field with Sydney’s Max Purcell and Shubhika Dubey taking the men’s and women’s titles.
Singleton’s Rene Boyton confirmed his excellent improvement under the guidance of Howe Park (Singleton) professional Gary Brenton by reaching the final and teaming with his coach to win the open doubles event.
Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre’s Joel Herbert also showed better form by only going down to Rene in three sets in the quarter-finals.
Nords Wharf’s Matt Ellis was also prominent in pairing up with Max Purcell to reach the men’s doubles final.
Top Spin Tennis at District Park is hosting a bronze AMT and white Junior Tour tournament from Friday, October 23, to Sunday, October 25.
All Hunter tournament players should support a quality local event and enter.
