More than 60 volunteers helped over the four days.
Lifeline Hunter Central Coast's PR, marketing and fundraising manager, Emma Askew, said the event was a wonderful community effort.
"[Our] major sponsor, Acrobat Removals, assisted in transportation and storage of the books, as well as donating $2000 to assist with event expenses," she said.
"The team of Lifeline volunteers helped with the event, as well as sorting books all year in preparation, and were assisted by corporate volunteers from the Newcastle Permanent, Koppers, Caterpillar and students from Hunter Valley Grammar School."
"The success of the event is the best reward and the money raised will help to train Crisis Support and face-to-face counselling volunteers, as well as fund the Telephone Crisis Support, face-to-face counselling and suicide prevention services in the region."
