The program is free to join and Lake Macquarie residents can receive two free native plants, as well as discounts at participating nurseries.
It helps ensure the survival of native wildlife and help safeguard against habitat loss and damage.
In the past two weeks, the council has given away about 4000 native trees to Lake Macquarie residents.
