Stockton were on top early having Merewether 5-53 at one stage.
Simon Moore (144 not out) showed his class first in a partnership of 76 with Michael Hogan (26).
Then in combination with Courtney Moulton and Daniel Morton they put on 86 runs for the last two wickets to push Merewether to 237.
Stockton struggled to get on top with Dan Upward (61) and Jeff Goninan (36) the main contributors in their total of 223.

University continued on their winning way downing the strong Ham Wicks side 178 to 109.

Charlestown’s 8-252 set too big a chase for Newcastle City 199 at Learmonth Oval.
James Rushford (57) and Aaron Payne 3-52 were the Charlestown performers.
