A HAZARD reduction burn planned for Belmont's Green Point Reserve has been postponed until later this month. The two-day task was initially planned for August, but has since been put off several times due to bad weather. Lake Macquarie council asset management manager Glen Walker said ensuring the safety of residents and on-the-ground staff during hazard reduction operations was a primary concern for council and Fire & Rescue NSW. A date for the burn has not yet been set. Council will keep residents updated via its website and social media, which it encouraged residents to monitor. Residents can also go to the Fire & Rescue NSW Facebook page and Twitter.
