Stockton and Charlestown were the only teams to earn maximum bonus points on Saturday.
Stockton (3-186) chased down Waratah’s 9-185 in under 30 overs.
For Stockton, Joe Clarke (58) and Leigh Osmond (44) led the chase and Jack McVey returned figures of 10-1-4-44.
At Kahibah Oval, Cameron Roxby (31) was the only Wallsend batsman to defy the Magpie attack in their 106.
Parth Shah’s figures of 7.4-3-3-10 were supported by an unbroken second wicket stand of 73 between Colby Gallagher (44 not out) and Jed Dickson (36 not out), which saw Charlestown home.
In other games, Merewether’s 7-240 was too much for Newcastle City 179.
Simon Moore’s 82 and Pat Darwan’s 4-27 were the highlights for the Lions.
University (162) were efficient in dismissing Cardiff (134) with Luke Bird’s double (61 and 8-1-2-33) the major contribution for the students.
Wests 9-186 took HamWicks (4-191) to the 47th over before losing.
Ryan Mannix starred with the ball for Belmont returning figures of 8.5-4-6-22 and
dismissing Toronto for 178.
Belmont got home in the 42nd with Chris Whittock’s 58 the major contribution.
On Sunday, Simon Moore’s 150 not out saw Merewether set Waratah a formidable 296.
Liam Wilson (35) was the only ‘Tah to show any defiance and part timer David Celep picked up 4-9 for the Lions.
Dylan Hunter’s return as captain was a blessing for City as his 105 not out set up their win over Wallsend.City passing
Wallsend’s 8-206 in the 44th over.
Mark Littlewood’s 126 not out was the third captain century and saw Belmont’s 7-267 overwhelm Hamwicks (169).
At Ron Hill Oval the game was over by lunch with Toronto skittling Cardiff for 68.
Toronto reached the target in the 12th over.
Joe Price starred with the ball returning 8-3-5-9.
University at home to Wests wrapped up a Tom Locker final spot against Merewether with a comfortable victory.
Uni dismissed Wests for 135 and passed them five down with captain Matt Gawthrop’s 56 not out the highlight.
Charlestown (216) sustained its run up the table with another bonus point win over Stockton (165).
The Magpie top order did the job again with James Rushford (63) and Daniel Arms (68). Chris Hernandez (40) and Sam Jenkinson (42) contributed for Stockton but Parth Shah continued his return to form with 9-4-2-14 and the pressure led to four run-outs in the closing stages.
