Evans, who grew up in Eleebana, has spent the better part of the year in America, working with producers who have collaborated with the likes of Keith Urban and Taylor Swift.
The singer and guitarist is about to record his second album, following the release of his self-titled debut album in March.
Those who know him will be familiar with his chart-topper hits Like a Tornado and While We’re Young.
Evans toured Australia with his band after the album’s release, which sat at the top of the country music charts for the first few weeks.
Evans’ solo career started in 2007, when he broke away from the band he and his older brother Tom formed in school, called Extortion and later renamed Solver.
He said the band never actually split, but he had less time to play in the band when the solo gigs starting piling up.
Evans’ musical flair blossomed in school, at Warners Bay High.
He and Tom played every chance they had at school concerts, local competitions and even Schools Spectacular.
Today, Evans runs a tight schedule, working for the Country Music Channel and chipping away at his music.
He calls Nashville, Tennessee his second home, having travelled to the songwriting capital of the world six times this year.
Evans recently performed a run of dates in Queensland and played at the Central Coast Country Music Festival.
But with the year winding down, Evans said he had found time to perform at the carols at Speers Point Park this month.
With his family in the crowd, Evans will perform four songs as part of the evening concert, which also features Sarah de Bono.
“One of my favourite Christmas songs is Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You,” Evans said.
“I might just bust that one out and go full diva for three minutes.”
