Newcastle and Lake Macquarie sports clubs have the chance to secure some much needed funds where they can demonstrate effective use of the Sport and Recreation funds.
“Whether it be funding towards training programs to secure more volunteer coaches or helping with that much-needed change room upgrade, these grants are designed to encourage more people to keep active,” Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald said.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald MLC today encouraged Hunter sporting clubs to apply for the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program which opened today.
Mr MacDonald said the Program aims to increase regular and on-going participation in sport and active recreation.
“The Local Sport Grant Program provides funding for sports clubs in the Hunter and across NSW,” he said.
There are four project types within the Program, these being:
- Sport Club Development worth up to $2000.
- Community Sport Events worth up to $5000.
- Sport Access worth up to $5000.
- Facility Development and Capital Equipment $25,000.
The minimum amount available is $250 except for facility development and capital equipment that has a $1,000 minimum-application.
Applications are open until February 11.
