Established in 1975 as a volunteer organisation, the 24/7 service has undertaken more than 30,000 missions and saved thousands of lives.
Today, there are four helicopters that operate across the Hunter, Central Coast and Mid North Coast regions, with one of two bases in Broadmeadow.
To mark the milestone, a luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 6, at Merewether Surfhouse.
Australian Victorian Cross recipient Mark Donaldson is the guest speaker.
