This is what Lake Macquarie Tennis Centre manager and coach Keith Williams said of the talented 10 year old, who trains and plays at the Warners Bay-based courts.
“For his age, Bailey’s style of play is at the high level,” Williams said.
“He has loads of potential.
“He has the commitment at this stage, he comes from a tennis family, has good support and lots of potential to be successful.
“But he’s also just a good kid who gets along with his peers.”
Woolfe, a student of St Mary’s Primary School at Warners Bay, has played tennis for six years, working his way up through the junior ranks.
He currently plays at the elite level in the junior development series for the Northumberland region, which spans from Gosford to Scone.
He trains twice a week for the series and plays in tournaments on Sundays between January and July.
“I love it,” Woolfe said, who also plays soccer and cricket in summer.
Last year Woolfe was selected for Super 10’s – a tournament for the best 10-year-old players from the region.
Woolfe made it to the final, where he faced quite a battle.
“It was quite windy, and I was facing the wind,” he said.
It was a similar story when he was selected for the Catholic School Diocese tennis team earlier this year.
He travelled to Lismore in February for the CSD tournament, and faced many year 6 students in the rain.
“This year I’m not concentrating as much on results,” Woolfe said.
“I'm focusing more on getting practice in for my game.”
Woolfe will have plenty of game practice throughout the April school holiday when he takes part in a tennis tournament in Newcastle and Gosford.
Tennis will not slow down after the middle of the year for Woolfe, who continues playing in Tennis NSW and other various tournaments in the area right through the year.
Woolfe, who said he looks up to Australian tennis professional Thanasi Kokkinakis, said he wants to keep playing.
“I’m just going to keep going,” he said.
