Wood said craft based arts were making a come back and pottery was no exception.
“Prior to the opening of the studio, potential students had limited options for learning pottery,” Ms Wood said.
“Most local classes were full with no vacancies on the horizon.”
She was encouraged by other local potters to take a gamble and open a studio.
Classes run Monday to Thursday both day and night, with children’s classes on Tuesdays at 4pm.
Woods was the CEO of a Hunter-based manufacturing company, but left the job in 2015 in search of a new direction.
The studio allows her to combine her business mind with her creativity.
“This decision is one of the best career moves I have made,” she said.
The teaching studio is located at 2/226 Brunker Road, Adamstown.
