Police were called to the McDonald’s Restaurant at Bakery Hill just at 3pm after a fight erupted between two teenage boys out the front of the store.
A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, said two security guards stepped in to break up the fight, however another teenager began attacking the security guards.
The witness claimed to be standing nearby when the fight broke out told The Courier the teenager who was aged in his late teens began spitting before becoming violent and launching at one of the security guards who was attempting to detain one the teenage boys involved in the initial fight.
The witness said the security guards then deployed their batons and detain the teenager but he was “out of control”.
The Courier understands the security guards attempted to calm the teenager down and requested that he move on the from the area.
But the witness said the teenager refused to leave the scene and became increasingly violent before he head-butted one of the security guards.
Two police vans and an ambulance attended the scene.
