More than 16,000 properties within our City are subject to flooding hazards and Council holds data relating to land and flood levels for approximately 90 per cent of these properties. Up until now, residents could only access this data by making an application for a Property Flooding and Tidal Inundation Certificate for a fee. Given the growing demand from the community for improved access to information, we’ve developed a free online tool to provide you with access to ground level and flood level information for individual properties in flood prone areas across the City.
The Property Flooding Information Summary tool, which can be accessed online at lakemac.com.au/development/flooding, provides details on the specified property of the possible effects from flooding, tidal inundation, and predicted sea level rises. Homeowners, occupiers or developers can search for information on a property using the street address or a lot and plan number. The development of this tool is in line with the Marks Point Belmont South Local Adaptation Plan to make flooding information more accessible to the community. I hope you find the tool as useful as I do.
