Hindmarsh spent the week travelling around NSW talking of his battle with a gambling addiction as part of Responsible Gambling Awareness Week.
Toronto High School PE head teacher Annette Gromek said “it’s all about making positive decisions about their lifestyle choices”.
“It’s informing them so they can make informed decisions and Nathan Hindmarsh presents it in a realistic way to them,” Gromek said.
Hindmarsh said he was passionate about raising awareness of the warning signs of gambling.
“While people might feel embarrassed, it’s important for them to remember they can stick their hand up and ask for help,” Hindmarsh said.
