Thirty years later the prices might have changed, but the club friendships that blossom are still there.
Last week about 80 club members gathered at Charlestown Square shopping centre to celebrate the milestone, including five original members.
For three decades, at 10am on Tuesdays, the women have met at Charlestown Square to share stories over a coffee and, of course, shop.
They have celebrated many a Mother's Day, Christmas in July, birthday and anniversary together.
Charlestown Square Tuesday Club member Colleen Bisson said it was the camaraderie of the group that first attracted her to join.
"I lost my daughter in 1980 and not long afterwards my husband had a major stroke," she said.
"I've made a lot of lasting friendships over the years, and shared their joys and their stories."
Charlestown Square Tuesday Club started in November 1982 to encourage more shoppers on Tuesdays - the centre's quietest day.
These days the women's friendship group also invites guest speakers to morning teas, go on outings and play games.
