Those formerly linked with the club are asked to get along from 1.30pm for a barbecue and to watch the Herald Women’s Premier League match between Merewether and South Wallsend.
“We’re hoping to reconnect with the people who helped build the Merewether WPL program over the years,” Ellis said.
“There have been a lot of very good people involved who laid the foundation for last year’s successful season.”
Merewether made WPL history last year when they became the first team to capture the minor premiership-championship double.
“We’re hoping past players, managers, coaches and supporters will get along; it would be good to get as many people together as possible,” Ellis said.
Merewether are one of just two foundation WPL clubs left in the Northern NSW top-flight women’s competition, along with Adamstown.
They have consistently pushed for finals berths since the league’s inception in 2009.
