Newcastle’s iconic Foreshore Park will be transformed this weekend into a world-class race track that will host a round of the international series, which is contested in countries including Indonesia, The Philippines and Malaysia.
Racing will be held on Saturday and Sunday on a purpose-built dirt and tar track.
A SuperMoto race was successfully staged in Newcastle last year and this event has been secured for the next three years.
British Supermoto Champion Chris Hodgson, who won the Newcastle event last year, and Spaniard Ivan Romero Garcia have confirmed their entries, along with three-time Superbike world champion Bayliss.
French rider Boris Chambon, the 2005 SuperMoto world title-holder will also be in the strong field.
The event will be broadcast on FOX Sports in Australia and on SBS.
