The event has been running for 32 years and had around 1500 participants take part this year.
“As far as the event was concerned we could not have asked for better,” event organiser Chad Griffith said.
“Numbers were a little bit down but there is a lot of competition in the marketplace now.
“We still had good numbers, the weather conditions were idyllic and we raised around $10,000 for the John Hunter Children’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which was the event charity.”
Guy Walters won the 10.5 kilometre race in 34 minutes, 18 seconds from Vlad Shatrov (34.31) in second and Brock Taylor (36.05) third. Angela Leadbeatter (39.39) was the women’s winner from Hayley Gustard (41.25).
Matt Hutton (1:15.37) won the men’s half marathon and Regina Jensen (1:22.27) was the women’s winner.
