This is Art will be held on September 30, from 7pm, and is a night of local punk music which will include Rort Menace, Shysters and John x Howard with friends. Entry $5.
Experimental as Anything is on October 1, from 6pm, and promises a night of weird noise from soundscapes and performance artists including P-ettiene the solo guise of Shane Fahey of Scattered Order fame, Vavenge the highly anticipated project of Nicola Morton, Matt Earle, Nick Dan and Anthony Guerra, Reapercussion the new loop based project of Novocastrian Kane Ewin, and Jenna Gill (aka Casio Gloria) will bring her poetic madness fresh from the Vivid festival to open the show. Entry $5.
This is Not Fair will be held on October 2, from 2pm. It is an event curated by Nicholas Senger and Cooper Bowman. Acts that will play on the day are Kneeling Knave, Red Wine and Sugar, Club Sound Witches, and Nicky Crane. Entry $10.
These acts will be joined by some of Newcastle’s prolific operators of marginalised sound both old and new including Spasmoslop, The Blinding, Synchronised Periods, Unique Oil Free Air and Anti-Pix and friends.
Grand final
NEWCASTLE veteran rockers DV8 will be entertaining the footy fans at the Wickham Park Hotel before and after the NRL grand final on October 2.
