Foundation Jets player Gema Simon will lead the charge as captain and also in the ranks will be fellow home-grown players Cassidy Davis, Brooke Miller, Claire Coelho, Clare Wheeler, Elizabeth Copus-Brown, Sophie Nenadovic, Jenna Kingsley and Rhali Dobson.
All retain their places in the Jets squad from last year but Deans was expecting some of the younger players to have more impact this season.
“As a group, they bring a diverse range of skills and experience to the side and all have matured in both attitude and ability since last season,” Deans said.
“We have some real talent amongst these girls, as evidenced by Sophie and Clare’s [Wheeler] selection in the Young Matilda’s camp this week.”
Davis, Copus-Brown, Kingsley and Dobson were instrumental in the Herald Women’s Premier League season this year.
Miller, Coelho, Wheeler and Nenadovic played for the Emerging Jets in the Women’s National Premier League in Sydney.
The Newcastle Jets women start their W-League season on the road against Melbourne City on November 6.
