The city is set to host the third annual Hunter Elvis Festival, from Friday, November 4, to Sunday, November 6.
The event will be held across three venues – Speers Point Park, Charlestown Bowling Club and Lost in the 50s, at Cameron Park.
Organiser Sheldon Kidd said Elvis-mania was building.
“It's time to start staking out the local 7-Elevens because The King is coming back,” Kidd said.
The festival continues to grow and Kidd said this year’s event features performers that will rock the city.
“The weekend will see Australia’s best Elvis tribute artists in action bringing you an epic Elvis-filled weekend of music, memories and all the hits of The King of Rock 'n' Roll,” Kidd said.
This year’s line-up is headlined by tribute artist Dean Vegas who has performed with Elvis’s original backing singers, the Jordanaires, as well as The King’s female backing group, the Sweet Inspirations.
Vegas will perform at the bowling club on Saturday from 8pm.
“Vegas has performed his show around the world, including in the USA, England, Sweden, and China,” Kidd said.
“His full-scale concert production is backed by the hottest TCB band this side of Memphis, together with authentic doo-wop backing singers, this is a must-see show for the casual or hardcore Elvis fans alike.”
Another highlight of the festival will be the Heaven and Earth Legends Show at the bowling club on Sunday at 3pm.
It features Jack Gatto as Elvis and Newcastle's two-time Mo Award winner Wayne Cooper as Roy Orbison, along with Mel Zambelis (playing Connie Francis) and Alicia Cooper (Dusty Springfield).
The festival will also feature a free community concert at Speers Point Park with a Show ‘n’ Shine car show on Sunday from 9am to 2pm. It will feature more than 100 hot rods and classic cars from the era.
Market stalls will trade at the festival.
