This year she played the sport so well she was picked in the Australian schoolgirls team and will tour the United Kingdom in 2017.
The Shortland 13-year-old has been playing football since she was five and this year played for Wallsend’s 14-years Women’s Premier League side.
The athletic striker was part of Callaghan College, Wallsend’s year 7/8 girls futsal team which won the regional competition before placing second at the Northern NSW championships.
She played for the NNSW team, which was undefeated at the Australia titles in Brisbane in September.
Jayde’s efforts earned her a call-up for the international tour in April.
“It’s pretty exciting,” she said.
“Hopefully I can gain some experience and enhance my skills during the tour.”
Jayde is on a fundraising drive to help cover the tour cost of $7500.
