THE Golden Guitar nominations announced last week saw Newcastle’s Lyn Bowtell receive a whopping seven nominations for her country/roots band Bennet, Bowtell and Urquhart.

Bennett, Bowtell and Urquhart have been nominated for duo or group of the year, alternative album of the year, and the APRA song of the year.
The trio also picked up noms for the heritage song of the year for Goulburn Valley Woman, and bluegrass recording of the year for their song I Hear Them All.‘
Bowtell picked up two further nominations in the vocal collaboration of the year category for her duet with Adam Harvey, Bartender Blues. And for another song she co-wrote called F U Cancer with good friends Beccy Cole and Catherine Britt.
It is a record number of nominations for the songstress topping off a hugely successful year.
