Maia is a voice-over artist and the young Wickham resident now has two credits under her belt for her role as Valerie the Vampire in the US podcast series Spooky Troop Christmas Special and Halloween Special.
“It’s about seven friends that save the entire world,” Maia said. “Making it was really fun.”
Valerie the Vampire is one of the main characters along with Willie the Werewolf, Stewart The Sorcerer, Delilah the Demon, Michael the Monster, Zianna the Zombie and Todd the Oddbot. Together they are seven good monsters born into a “wicked world”.
The characters live in the fictitious United Netherworld where instead of Christmas, Scary Christmas is celebrated, until one day Valerie the Vampire questions the tradition and trouble ensues.
The Spooky Troop set out on a quest to discover the true meaning of Christmas. But soon discover an evil plan by the Demon King which will see Santa’s helpers turned into a “dark elf army.”
In a race against the clock the young monsters battle to bring the true meaning of Christmas to the United Netherworld.
Recorded in her family home-studio Maia worked in real time with producers at the Los Angeles-based Wonkybot Studios.
Maia also performs a duet on the podcast. Episode one: Reindeer Rescue was released last week. An episode a week will be released every Wednesday until Christmas.
Maia likes to spend her earnings from the podcasts on mermaid outfits.
The series features an international all-child cast.
