The museum front lawn will be filled with fun things to see, make and do while inside the human body can be explored in the interactive exhibition Humanoid Discovery. The BHP sound and light show and the science-based Supernova will also be open.
Families are invited to picnic on the lawn before moving to the harbour for the 9pm fireworks.
The Newcastle Museum is located at 6 Workshop Way, Honeysuckle.
VAN THE MAN
LIZOTTE’S will see in the New Year with Van the Man, the Van Morrison tribute show, and dinner. It will also feature a magic show by Jay Scott Berry. Show only tickets also available. Tickets: newcastle.lizottes.com.au
STREET PARTY
THE Cambridge Hotel will roll out its New Year’s Eve Street Party. There will be nine big acts, across two stages, including Newcastle talent Raav Tapes and some of Newcastle’s finest DJs. Tickets sold out last year, so best get in early: events.ticketbooth.com.au
LOCAL TALENT
THE Lass O’Gowrie will stick with local talent on New Year’s Eve with a bill featuring DAVE, Run Squirrel and E4444e. Kicks off early, goes until late.
BLUES ROCK
The Stag and Hunter Hotel, Mayfield, will bring the blues to town with Colin Jones and The Delta Revue who will headline a bill which includes Blues Bombers and The Hurricanes.
