Free professional skin checks will be held on Saturday and Sunday as part of the TAL SpotChecker program, which rolled out for the first time at Bondi beach last month.
Skin cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia but TAL spokesperson Fiona Macgregor said research showed that early detection can increase the chances of successful treatment.
“The TAL SpotChecker program is one of a number of ways we are looking at to interact with the community in a meaningful way, while delivering a benefit that allows all Aussies to truly enjoy this Australian life,” Ms McGregor said.
“With 200 skin checks, our goal is to both detect and prevent skin cancers, in order to enable Aussies to embrace this Australian summer with the confidence of knowing they have had their skin checked out by a professional.”
Anyone interested can pre-register at talspotchecker.com.au to reserve their free skin check from a professional GP on either Saturday (December 10) or Sunday (December 11).
Limited places will also be available for walk-ins over the weekend.
