Elki Lee Parkinson is Scone’s first baby for 2017.

And, her parents Sharna and Mitchell couldn’t be prouder.

Little Elki weighed 3.75 kilograms after being born at Scott Memorial Hospital at 6.43am on January 5.

Mother Sharna said there was no real inspiration behind the choice of name.

“We just found it on the internet and liked it,” she said.

“I’m a local girl, I’ve been in Scone since I was five and my other daughter was born here as well.” 

Elki is a sister to Jade, who will turn two years old in March.
