THE value of residential land in Lake Macquarie rose by 9 per cent last financial year to a total of $22 billion, figures released by the NSW Valuer General show.

But that growth was outstripped by commercial land in Lake Macquarie which increased in value by 13 per cent to a total of $834 million.
Industrial land in the city increased in value by 4 per cent to a total of $453 million.
Residential land in Wyong (12.7 per cent), and Gosford (10.2 per cent) also increased strongly in value.
Rural land values for the Hunter region (including the Central Coast) increased slightly, by 3.1 per cent.
Lake Macquarie showed a strong increase of 10.7 per cent, influenced by high demand for hobby farms and rural home sites, the Valuer General said.
