Roads, water, drainage, and community facilities were the big-ticket items in the first ever Central Coast Council operational plan, adopted in June.
The plan outlined the council’s annual spend, including management of more than $11 billion of assets.
Council administrator Ian Reynolds said the new council had reached some important milestones, including.-
- the opening of the Bato Yard skate park, in August;
- the opening of The Art House, at Wyong, in May; and
- the completion of an $8.25 million project to install a new odour control system at the Wyong South wastewater treatment plant.
The wastewater treatment plan “would help secure the water supply to the growing population in the north of the Coast”, Mr Reynolds said.
He said the council managed 2000 kilometres of roads and had completed a wide range of road works since the amalgamation.
And the council’s $7 million investment in Tuggerah Lakes over the past financial year was paying off, he said, with three areas achieving improved water quality in the past 12 months.
“There’s too many achievements to name here but we’ve been very busy and will continue to work hard for residents,” Mr Reynolds said.
