MUSICIANS, music lovers and musical educators gathered at the Croatian Club on Friday to demonstrate their objection to the axing of an array of ABC Radio National's music programs.

In 2016 it was announced the programs The Daily Planet, The Inside Sleeve, Jazztrack, The Music Show, The Live Set and Rhythm Divine would be cut.
Protest organiser and musician Gleny Rae said cutting of the programs would be felt across the Australian music industry.
“These programs offered singers and songwriters the opportunity to have their music heard on a national platform,” she said.
“Particularly the kind of music not picked up by commercial radio, it will have a huge impact. It will also affect small music festivals who these shows support through talking about them.”
