Nordstrand, who has scored three goals this season, missed Sunday’s 2-0 away loss to Western Sydney Wanderers with concussion after he suffered a head knock against Perth a week earlier.
But the former Danish international and winger Andrew Hoole (suspension) will return to the side for the showdown with Tim Cahill’s third-placed City after a doctor cleared him to play.
The Jets again will be without midfielder Wayne Brown, who has missed the past two games with a hip problem. Coach Mark Jones said after a recovery session on Tuesday that the Englishman would be fit to return next week.
The Jets sorely missed the attacking trio last weekend and rarely threatened the Wanderers goal in a defeat which left them eighth on the ladder.
Coffs Harbour City Council expects a crowd of about 8000 at Coffs Harbour International Stadium on Friday night, weather permitting, including about 250 Newcastle supporters travelling up the Pacific Highway on free buses.
The giant-killing Jets women’s team play City in the curtain-raiser for a place in the W-League finals.
