Novocastrians Lachlan Wells and Ryan Rowland-Smith will represent Australia at the World Baseball Classic next month in Japan.

Rowland-Smith, 34, will be one of the most experienced players in the 28-player national squad while Wells, 19 will be the youngest.

The Australian team travel to Seoul, South Korea on February 24 for a pre-tournament tour. The World Baseball Classic starts on March 8.
