The Warners Bay 52-year-old is in training for the Wild Women On Top Sydney Coastrek, a 60-kilometre fundraising walk from Manly to Bondi on March 17 for The Fred Hollows Foundation.
Ms Parra is doing the trek with her husband Angel, daughter Danielle, and her daughter’s friend Mary Peasley in The Fantastic Four.
“I really like walking and at least if you have a goal, a challenge, you tend to want to do it more,” Ms Parra said.
“I did it with a friend two years ago and when we saw it we just said, ‘Why don’t we do that’.
“We like doing our part for the community and this is our way of helping, just fundraising and challenging ourselves and it’s also a way to get a little bit fitter too.”
