Grace Hewitt won the 200m title at the Hunter region Little Athletics championships at Glendale last month.
She pipped second-placed Tiahna Skelton, Millie Stephenson was third, Paige Worley fourth and Jacy Carter fifth.
Hewitt, Skelton, Worley and Carter train together at Glendale under coach Pete Gentz and all four agreed they were pushing each other to faster times.
“It’s good because they pull me along and encourage me to push myself,” Jacy said.
Hewitt and Skelton head to the NSW Little Athletics Championships at Homebush starting Friday with the quickest times over 200m in the state for their age group.
Skelton and Worley compete for Wallsend Little Athletics Club and Hewitt and Carter for Port Stephens.
Stephenson competes for Macquarie Hunter.
